Liquor Control Commissioner Hearing Postponed Again

Belluomini's date in front of Tom Cauley was rescheduled for August 16.

For the second time this month, a hearing before Hinsdale’s Liquor Control Commissioner, Village President Tom Cauley, regarding alleged code violations at Belluomini’s Grill and Spirits has been postponed.

“It was requested by the attorneys that were involved,” said Deputy Chief Kevin Simpson of the .

The hearing is now scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at Memorial Hall, taking place before the regularly scheduled Village Board meeting.

The hearing stems from a complaint that took place around 3:40 a.m. May 22 at Belluomini’s Grill and Spirits, 954 S. Madison St., Simpson said.

“It was alleged that there were patrons in the bar and there was liquor still being served,” he said.

Under village liquor codes, no open alcohol can be present 30 minutes after closing. Belluomini’s closes at 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. In addition, the complaint indicates the outside doors were locked when there were still patrons inside the establishment.

“These are alleged to have occurred, and that’s what the hearing is for,” Simpson said.

Owner Paul Belluomini said Wednesday afternoon that his attorney told him the hearing was continued. Belluomini had no further comment at this time.

Earlier this year the establishment had its liquor license revoked for seven days and received a $1,000 fine. That order came following a guilty plea in January to a December incident involving similar violations.
