Hinsdale Village Board to Vote on Assisted Living Facility

Eden Supportive Living is seeking a special use permit for the property at 10 N. Washington St.

On the agenda for Tuesday night's Board of Trustees meeting is a vote on an ordinance that would clear the way for Eden Supportive Living, which provides assisted living for disabled people ages 22 to 64, to take over the property at 10 N. Washington, just west of the Hinsdale Public Library and Memorial Hall.

The property Eden would take over is the former site of Washington Square, which operated as senior citizen housing from 1975 to 2009. According to Tuesday's agenda, several parties have expressed interest in redeveloping the property, but nothing "concrete" was proposed before Eden.

The ordinance that will be voted on Tuesday night would grant a special use permit for a planned development and personal care facility, as well as a site plan/exterior appearance approval.
