Hinsdale Reviewing Concealed Carry Permits

For an Illinois resident to be eligible for a concealed carry license, the applicant must be at least 21 years old and have a valid Firearm Owner's Identification card.

The village of Hinsdale has received 43 applications for concealed carry permits since the start of the year, and so far, local police have not filed any objections against those who have applied, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Hinsdale Police Chief Brad Bloom told the Chicago Tribune he was surprised by the number of Hinsdale residents who have applied so far for concealed carry permits and said he thought the number "would be much less" and that local residents wouldn't be as interested.

Meanwhile, signs that show a handgun covered by a red ban symbol are being posted at libraries and fire stations — and other locations where guns are not allowed under the new law, according to the Chicago Tribune.
