Hinsdale Receives $464K Grant to Resurface Chicago Avenue

The grant was awarded to the village by the DuPage Mayors & Managers Conference.

The Village of Hinsdale secured a $464,000 grant from the DuPage Mayors & Managers Conference for the resurfacing of Chicago Avenue in 2018, according to Village President Tom Cauley.

Chicago Avenue's resurfacing is part of the village's 15-year Master Infrastructure Plan (MIP). The grant will cover approximately 75 percent of the total cost of resurfacing.

"Although we really haven't counted on grant money as part of our [MIP], we are tight for funds and to the extent we get these grants, it makes it much easier to comply with the schedule for the 15 year Master Infrastructure Plan," Cauley said at the June 18 board of trustees meeting.
