GOP Gubernatorial Hopeful Kirk Dillard Casts Vote in Hinsdale

Kirk Dillard casts vote in Hinsdale for Republican candidate's slot in Illinois's governor race. Dillard says his campaign is gaining momentum against frontrunner Bruce Rauner.

State Sen. Kirk Dillard (24) and wife, Stephanie, showed up early at a Hinsdale polling place to cast their votes in the Illinois primary.
Dillard is one of four GOP hopefuls eyeing to run against democrat Pat Quinn in the Illinois governor's race in November.
A recent WGN/Chicago Tribune poll indicates that Dillard is gaining ground on frontrunner Bruce Rauner for the Republican governor's candidate slot.
Millionaire upstart Rauner still holds the lead at 36 points, but has dropped four points since last month, WGN reported.
Dillard was running second at 23 points going into Tuesday's Republican primary race, followed by Bill Brady at 18 percent and Dan Rutherford at 9 percent.
Dillard's campaign office announced that the Hinsdale republican and his supporters will be gathering for a victory party starting at 7 p.m. after the polls close Tuesday, at Ashyana Banquets, 1620 W. 75th St. in Downers Grove.
