Biggert Endorses Dillard in 24th District Primary Race

Mr. O'Meara and Mr. Mark, To ease your minds, I can assure you that I am paid nothing for my volunteer efforts. My wife is the Director of the Legislative office of the 41st Legislative District. She held that position for Representative Biggins prior to Rep. Nybo being elected. The taxpayers get their money's worth for her outstanding work. It's a very modest salary, far less than most people earn. She's volunteered for many efforts over the years gentlemen. She's a Certified School teacher who specialized in Special Ed for many years. She tutored dozens of children for no compensation to help struggling parents. I don't find anything she does hypocritical. I do however find it curious and rather tactless that Mr. Dillard's staff constantly brings her up in any conversation. I'm in love with her for over 30 years, yet I've learned to ignore these slights. If you were in my position, could you? She's a tough lady who understands that helping people sometimes means you'll be criticized unfairly. Hypocritical is the polar opposite of how I feel gentlemen. I'm a free mouthpiece Mark, just as I have been for other great candidates over the years. I only ask for one thing; good, honest government and selfless service. Nybo has provided all of that. Give him a good look. He's the real thing.

Kevin, you indicate you are a free mouthpiece - the correct compensation and one that is appropriate for someone as inexperienced and incompetent as Nybo.

On a separate note, Mr. Dillard notwithstanding, I do have a great deal of admiration for Congresswoman Biggert. She's not as conservative as I am or I would like, but she's a lovely person and has worked very hard. Like Mr. Dillard, who is also a nice man (notwithstanding his campaign staff who have done him far more harm than good), it is time to consider a change. I've personally known Jack Cunningham from Kane County for a while and believe he would be an excellent choice. In either case, we'd like to make sure that Bill Foster never goes to Congress again. I'm not surprised that Congresswoman Biggert would support Mr. Dillard. They've been neighbors and friends for many years. It's an election. I've been a supporter of term limits (a reasonable time) for quite a while now. If you want different results, you should consider different players. It's a philosophy I've come to after knocking on a lot of doors. We have elections to see where the public body is. Make your best case and deliver the decision to the hands of the governed. The rest of the stuff is merely puffery.

Kevin, you are certainly entitled to your opinon also and as I see in the Patch you must have an incredibly inordinate amount of free time to spend numerous hours scanning the Elmhurst Patch - ?! - to respond to any criticism of Nybo - WOW!! What diligence! Really??!

You're right Sean. It's a little creepy. The Patch actually sends me an email every time there's an update. If I see an untruth, I do my best to correct the record. Once a lie stands for a day it becomes the new truth.

Maybe Richard still hasn't found the keep me posted box! What I like about the Patch is it gives the voters a chance to be more educated on the current topics and the players in each race. No more one door knock, three mailers and two robo calls and go vote. I do have to admit one thing, Kevin, your posts are always respectful, thought out, not demeaning to others and usually bring a chuckle. But I think the other guy is going to win with his big war chest.

Thank you for your kind words. We've worked very hard to meet as many voters as we can and make our case on the porches of every house in the district. We've been to every area at least 4 times since July '11. We are delivering the decision to the voters on 3/20 (or earlier for early voters) It will be up to them. He's raised a lot of money from fat cat lobbyists all over Springfield. We raise it in much smaller amounts from many more people. We like our chances. We're running through the the tape.

At the Lyons Township Republican Organization endorsement session, Nybo AND Fitzpatrick orchestrated their supporters in an effort to stop then UNOPPOSED Rep. Biggert from receiving the LTRO endorsement. Nybo and Fitzpatrick were on their feet yelling for their paid group of non-Lyons people to vote NO to Judy. Judy was seated next to Nybo and Fitzpatrick. You can call LRTO or Biggert's campaign office to confirm this. Don't take it from me, verify for yourself.

Frank Canzolino, let's verify this; You weren't there. Neither Nybo nor Fitzpatrick were next to Judy. Judy was sitting next to Kirk Dillard. I was 50 feet in front of Mr. Nybo at this meeting. Nearly everyone voting in this goofy endorsement session was not from Lyons Twp. It was a fundraising straw poll with the winner buying the endorsement. We did bring our 11 canvassers there prior to going into precincts. We made a donation to the LT organization by check for our entire group. No one yelled ever at this. It was actually quite confusing. Our intent was to not vote at all in any of the Congressional races. Your campaign manager, Lee Lewis stood at the registration table with a roll of cash promising anyone who would vote for Kirk, that he would pay their Township dues. Not illegal, but very unseemly. Here's where you are deliberately telling untruths (lies) Frank; you imply you witnessed this event and you weren't there. You assert that Judy sat next to Chris and me. Chris and I didn't even sit together. Judy sat next to Kirk. He wouldn't let her leave. He needed her vote. No one but Judy came there from her office. Our race (Nybo/Dillard) was recounted 3 times. 23-22, 22-21, 20-19. It's a good thing for Kirk that Judy did stay to vote for him. You are untruthful about me being on my feet, where Judy sat and omitted that your manager paid cash for people at the door. You weren't there. I wouldn't take it from you. You aren't telling the truth. Verify my facts with Judy!

Frank Cincinnatus Canzolino's recount of a meeting that he did not attend speaks to his lack of integrity. He's doing his candidate no good by being untruthful. In the case of Congresswoman Biggert, we both (Chris Nybo and I) greeted her warmly. She's a lovely woman. We weren't the least bit surprised with her support for her friend Kirk. We still have no idea why Mr. Peraica asked for a show of hands after Judy was endorsed. It was a very confusing function. I like Judy. I always have. She's not as conservative as I'd like her to be, however she's always been genuine. We both wish her well. She should breeze through her primary, but her General will be very difficult. She may be taking one for the team in that race. In any case, she's a very classy person.

Let's be very clear. You paid for 11 supporters, some of whom were Republican precinct committeemen, the roll of cash Lewis has paid for 4. Let's be clear, you do not deny Nybo orchestrating a vote against the woman you call a lovely lady, Judy Biggert who was then unopposed in the primary. I was not there, which is why I suggest that people call Judy or the Lyons people.
Let's be clear, I have received a total of $2000 for working 6 or 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, since July 1st, about the same amount your wife has been paid by the Nybo campaign in that time for much less time since she also receives dtate pay as Nybo's District Director. Let's be clear.

Frank, I have no idea how much clearer we can make this for you. We brought all of our canvassers to this meeting who were going to be walking in Western Springs and Clarendon Hills that day. Chris paid his "township dues" at the previous meeting. We made a donation to the township to cover our group. Lewis stood at the front desk with a wad of cash offering to pay the dues for any person who came in who would vote for Dillard. It was a straw poll Frank. Other candidates "joined" the organization to vote as well. Then the candidates tried to barter their votes with one another to cobble enough to "win" not "earn" an endorsement. We had to sit for a long 3 hours of mostly boring campaign speeches for every office imaginable. We did not orchestrate an effort against Judy. Her race was the first one voted on. We had no plans to vote in any Congressional race. Peraica asked for all those in favor of her unopposed run. She got several votes. For whatever reason, he asked who did not want to endorse in the race. We understood our votes to be "not endorsing or endorsing" not a vote against her. There was no one else to vote for in this race. We don't know why any further question was asked. We did not vote either way in any other Congressional election after that. It was too goofy. The whole session was run poorly. You have come off of your untruth about Chris and I sitting with Judy. Your credibility is shot now Frank.

On your unsolicited and silly question about your compensation vs. that of my wife? You have stated on this message board that you were a volunteer and didn't get paid anything. That too, was untrue. I don't take compensation for what I do or gas money. Your buddy, Lee Lewis is being handsomely compensated. Dillard told the seniors at Lexington Elmhurst he had 5 paid staffers. He also pays himself a Campaign per diem. He pays himself to campaign. If he pays himself more than you (Mr. 7 days a week, 12 hours a day), that's a shame. He pays himself and his family mileage and gas money- all legal. You get gas money too Frank. Why you always seem to want to bring my wife into every discussion is beyond me Frank. One more thing we can be clear about. You were interested in working on our campaign before going to Mr. Dillard. We don't pay. You went where you could get paid. Good for you. Should have gotten a better deal in writing Frank. That's as clear as I know how to be.

It is not about you or me Kevin, it is about the candidates. Nybo orchestrated a tasteless display against Rep. Biggert. You haven't denied it though you are masterfully spinning it. This isn't Nybo;s first such display of immaturity. Finger poking Minority Leader Cross, and Rep. Saviano while in Caucus? No problem, just confused... Same thing with Rafael R during a York Township meeting, aw nothing to see here... Foul and abusive language with Elmhurst Alderwomen, nah, no problem... Ducking hard votes in both the legislature and the City Council, move along, folks...
Nybo has shown a never ending road of bad behavior, all while constantly leaving positions without fulfilling his term whenever he see an opening in higher office. Dillard is a statesman, and has earned the Tribune and Daily Herald endorsements over a vastly inferior candidate, served by a thuggish Chicago-style political machine. In Nybo's own polling, voters prefer Dillard 2:1, numbers which have been confirmed in numerous polls since.

Nybo had Friends of Barack Obama group on his Facebook page until just prior to this primary. Nybo walked precincts and coordinated volunteer efforts for Obama while in Law School. A newspaper article said Obama was a favored professor of Nybo.

Illinois taxpayers pay a legislative district director about $25k and up. The Nybo campaign supplements the pay of his district director. In the period of time I have been working for Dillard, I have received one $2000 stipend, which is about the same as the district director's campaign supplement above the legislative district director's pay. At the time I said I was not paid, I had not received a stipend, and did not know I was going to receive one.
But enough about me. And enough about Kevin, other than to realize he DOES have a financial interest in this campaign, to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars of pay and benefits to his household.

Frank, I was there. You weren't. You made false accusations. I haven't. Nobody understood how this system worked, not me, not Judy, not anyone else. Many people believed this would be done by ballot. Others believed the candidates would leave the room for the voting. It wasn't presented as a vote for or against, there was no against Frank. No other opponent. Frankly Frank, you made false accusations about a meeting you were not at. Apparently Mr. Lewis didn't want to peel off an extra two bits for your input. For you to impugn my honesty is a bit off the charts Frank. Your untruths have been exposed. Ask Congresswoman Biggert what happened. What she and I have in common is that we were both there. You have nothing in common with either of us. I doubt she would care for you very much. Her staff is polite.

Frank, you're mistaken. No actually telling yet another untruth. You've told me before you have a screen capture of the Friends of Barack Obama page. You couldn't, because it never existed. He did pass out some brochures for Obama, when he was a student at U of Chicago Law as a student in his voting rights class on one weekend...when he was running against Bobby Rush. Too bad he didn't win that one. History would be different. He was a 21 year old student confined to a Hyde Park race. Mr. Dillard was a 56 year old Chairman of the Dupage Republican Party who cut a nationwide endorsement commercial for Obama for President of the US. Big difference Frank. That's not defend-able. You just rationalize it as much as possible hoping people will forget. They didn't. You only have to spin when the facts aren't on your side. You must be getting really dizzy.

I ask you, dear reader, to call the Lyons Township Republican Organization, or the Biggert Campaign Office. This is not about me, and despite what Kevin thinks, it is not about him. It is about Nybo's inappropriate behavior. Notice that Kevin never asks you to reach out to anyone else, and expects you to believe him. I don't expect you all to believe either of us. Confirm the facts for yourself.

All this time quite frankly, I thought you were a jerk. I had no idea your boss, Kirk Dillard paid you as his campaign employee so poorly & made you work such long hours for slave wages. I have seen his campaign disclosures and have seen where the alomost $400,000 special interest money has come from & I have seen how much he spends on himself and the current Mrs. Dillard. How someone treats their employees says alot about their character. I will be forwarding your information about the long & hard hours you keep & how little Mr. Dillard values your efforts & you as a person to everyone I know. Of course you are always bringing up how Nybo's staff is treated. Sound like there is a HUGE difference in how Nybo treats his employees and I understand how hurtful it is to someone elses staff treated with respect. Thank you for explaining to us how badly Dillard treats you. I can't imagine why you put up with that but these are trying times. Best of luck to you.

Understand this clearly, I have asked for no money, and expected to receive none. I am a volunteer with this campaign, just like Kevin. Kevin keeps implying I am employed by the campaign, I am not. It speaks well of a candidate who rewards his people whenever he can, and however he can.
Notice something else, people. Kevin again deflects you away from checking for yourself. Trust him, he knows all...

Jean / Frank / Kevin, ALL of your credibility with regard to this campaign is questionable as you ALL have direct connections to either candidate - do us all a favor and let the real voters discuss the issues in this forum. Feel free to comment March 21, until then pass out your brochures,knock on doors, put signs in yards and do what's paid political operative is supposed to do. Thank you.

Susan, I long ago established that I am not paid. I guess it's fair to call myself a real voter. I've voted in every election for the past 30 years or so. But if you deem this forum as only fit for you, have at it. Your very pleasant demeanor will surely attract many others to have discussions with you.
