20-Foot-Tall 'Snow Mountains' Form in Hinsdale From 80 Truckloads of Snow

The village dumps snow in parking lots at Hinsdale Community Pool, 500 W. Hinsdale Ave., and at Veeck Park, according to media reports.

Temperatures are beginning to warm but Hinsdale officials say it could take months to completely melt the two 20-foot-tall piles of snow located in the parking lots at the Hinsdale Community Pool, 500 W. Hinsdale Ave., and at Veeck Park, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The village has dumped about 80 truckloads of snow in the two locations so far this winter, according to an article posted this past week on The Doings Hinsdale website.

The Doings Hinsdale reports the piles look more like a mountain and  that's why "that may be why they are tempting to climb." George Franco, director of public works for Hinsdale, anticipates the piles will not completely dissipate until March or April — possibly May.
