Woman Stopped in Clarendon Hills Suspected of Heroin Possession

Burglary to motor vehicle, cannabis possession, and criminal damage to property were also among recent offenses reported by the Clarendon Hills Police Department.

Possession of a controlled substance—Sarah Ann Myers, of Michigan, was charged with driving on a suspended license and possession of drug equipment after she was pulled over for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Oxford Avenue at 1:31 a.m. May 16 and  found a substance believed to be heroin in her possession.

Police said Myers, 22, has not been charged with possession of heroin because police have not yet received test results on the substance. Police found hypodermic needles in the car and the substance in question in Myers' purse.

The suspect was released and the case is pending. 

Burglary from motor vehicle—An unknown suspect stole an iPhone 4 from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 300 block of Western Avenue on May 14.

The victim reported the burglary on May 16. The value of the phone was not provided.

Possession of cannabis—Lucas Samarcas, of 18 E. Hickory St. in Hinsdale, was charged with possession of cannabis after he was stopped by police while walking near the intersection of Ann Street and Harris Avenue at 3:06 a.m. May 13 and was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Samarcas, 19, was also observed to be under the influence of alcohol and was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol. 

Police were canvassing the neighborhood in response to a burglary report when they stopped Samarcas.

Criminal damage to property—A victim from the 0-100 block of Oxford Avenue reported at 7 p.m. May 13 that an unknown suspect threw a landscaping rock from the victim's front yard through a front window of the home. 

Disorderly conduct—A male juvenile from Hinsdale was caught flashing a green laser light at drivers that included a police officer on Prospect Avenue near Chicago Avenue at 9:48 p.m. May 12.

The suspect was not charged but will be punished by a peer jury.
