Beware the Beehive

Someone reported a bush full of swarming bees at 9:28 a.m. on the 200 block of Burlington Avenue. Police notified an amateur beekeeper of the situation. He arrived on scene, cut down the nest and took it home to remove the hive inside. The remaining bees might be removed by him later, according to police.

Child Rescued From Seatbelt

A two-year-old at 55th Street and Walker in a vehicle wrapped a center ceiling seat belt around his neck and it began to retract, police said. The Clarendon Hills Fire Department arrived at 10:29 a.m. to cut the belt and release the tension, freeing the boy. He was OK, according to police.

Just Get Me Home Please

A man who was highly intoxicated missed his train stop in LaGrange and got off at Clarendon Hills at 1:27 p.m. He thought two other males that got off the train at the same time looked suspicious because they weren't dressed like him and were walking in the same direction as him, according to police. An officer had someone call for a cab and stood by until the cab arrived.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12

Woman Refuses Treatment After Collision

A two-car crash was reported at 7:34 a.m. at 55th Street and Virginia, police said. An ambulance came for one of the drivers involved in the crash, but she refused to be transported, police said. Police received multiple calls about the crash. One resident said she could hear it from her house nearby, according to a report.
