Woman Charged With Felony After Deceptive Practice in Hinsdale

Hinsdale police reports, Oct. 4

A Chicago Ridge woman is headed to court in connection with bogus purchases made in Hinsdale, police said.

Megan Resendez, 27, of the 11000 block of Central Avenue, was charged with one count of felony deceptive practice — insufficient or non-existent check funds. Resendez was taken into custody on Oct. 4 outside of her apartment, according to a police report.

Resendez made purchases on Aug. 12 and Aug. 18 totaling $252.87 using personal checks on a closed account. The purchases were made at a business on the 700 block of North York Road

Resendez has outstanding warrants from Orland Park, the Will County Sheriff's Office, and Downers Grove. The Downers Grove warrant was also in connection to deceptive practices, according to court records.

The DuPage County State's Attorney's Office approved a felony charge and Resendez was taken to the DuPage County Jail where she was later released. Her next court date is Nov. 4.
