Attempted Residential Burglary

Someone tried to pry a sliding door and a window open at the rear of a home on the first block of East Fifth Street. The incident occurred sometime between 11:10 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. No one got into the house and none of the residents were there at the time, according to police. A case is pending.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 6

Woman Suspects Nursing Staff Battered Husband

A woman on this day reported to Hinsdale police that the staff of a nursing home contacted her about bruises on her husband's hand and arm. The woman thinks the nursing home staff battered her husband, according to police. The husband is a resident of the nursing home and the staff contacted her at 8 a.m. Aug. 25, according to a report. A case is pending.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 4

Deceptive Practice

A known suspect wrote checks on a closed account to pay for goods and services at a business on the first block of South Washington. The incidents occurred sometime between 8 a.m. Aug. 23 and 5:18 p.m. Sept. 4, according to police. The checks totaled $2,166.06 and a case is pending.
