Vigil for Abbey Bott Held on IU Campus

The 18-year-old from Clarendon Hills died Sunday only months after graduating from Hinsdale Central.

A vigil was held Monday night for Clarendon Hills' Abbey Bott on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington, according to Patch reader Sue Pircon who attended and took the above photos.

Bott, 18, was found dead in her IU dorm room Sunday. She is a 2013 graduate of Hinsdale Central. No foul play is suspected, but a cause of death won't be determined until toxicology results are known in four to six weeks.

"I am at IU getting my daughter and attended a memorial service tonight attended by almost 200 students," Pircon wrote in an email accompanying her pictures. "Abbey was at IU for less than eight weeks and yet was loved by everyone that met her."
