Vandals Hit Cars at 55th and Vine

Criminal damage to motor vehicles—Two cars parked at 55th and Vine streets were the apparent targets of vandals on Jan. 28. A male victim reported that at 10 p.m. his vehicle’s front hood was dented and front windshield was smashed by ice and snow chunks. Damage is estimated at $400. A female victim reported that at 10:31 p.m. her vehicle’s vehicle’s passenger mirror was torn off by unknown subject(s) throwing ice and snow chunks. Damage is estimated at $200.

Deceptive practice, unlawful use of credit cards—The Shell Food Mart, 210 E. Ogden, lost about $488 between Jan. 12 and Jan. 19 possibly because of fraudulent purchases on four occasions. A store employee told police on Jan. 26 that two possible known suspects made the purchases.
