Two Driving-related Fights Reported by Police

Two DUIs were also among recent offenses in Clarendon Hills.

Battery—Two fights stemming from separate driving incidents occurred late last week but resulted in no criminal charges, according to the .

The first incident took place at 6:07 p.m. April 12, when a resident walking his dog near the intersection of Rose Place and Waverly Avenue yelled and made an obscene gesture at a driver he thought was traveling too fast. The driver stopped, got out of his vehicle and threw a punch at the walker. The two wrestled on the ground before the driver returned to his vehicle and drove off.

A witness got the license plate of the driver, whose identity is known by police, but the walker has not pursued any charges. 

The second incident occurred at 6:19 p.m. on April 14. In that case, one driver pursued another after a traffic dispute near the intersection of Clarendon Hills Road and 55th Street. The two drivers exited their vehicles near the intersection of Prospect and Park avenues and took swings at one another.

No charges are being pursued by either party and the case is closed.

DUI—Michael Pacetti, of 16957 Burr Oak Dr. in Homer Glen, was charged with DUI after he was observed to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop for failure to signal and driving without a front license plate near the intersection of Ann Street and Eastern Avenue at 12:38 a.m. April 13 and failed ensuing field sobriety tests.

Pacetti, 45, refused a breath test. He was charged with DUI, failure to signal, and driving without a front license plate.

DUI—Michael Prelaske, of 5705 Fairmount Ave. in Downers Grove, was charged with DUI after he was observed to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop for improper lane usage and driving on the shoulder on Route 83 near the Chicago Avenue crossing at 2:57 a.m. April 12 and failed ensuing field sobriety tests.

Prelaske, 33, refused a breath test. He was charged with DUI, improper lane usage, and driving on the shoulder.
