Two Cited for Selling Tobacco to Minor During Hinsdale Compliance Checks

An employee at the BP Amoco, 149 E. Ogden, and another employee at the Hinsdale Oasis Travel Mart were cited for selling tobacco to a minor during village compliance checks in recent weeks, according to a Hinsdale Police Department report. 

An employee at the Oasis Travel Mart, Haifa Abu-Baker, 41, of Oak Lawn, and an employee of the BP, Debra L. Leiss, 46, of Westchester, were arrested between 11:11 p.m. and 2:20 p.m. on Feb. 28, according to the police report. 

The employees were released and charged with a local ordinance violation of unlawful sale of tobacco to a minor. The police department conducted tobacco compliance checks at all businesses in the village, according to the police report.
