Tobacco Found in Lunch Bag, Thefts at Hinsdale Central

Backpack Left Unattended
Someone swiped two necklaces from a backpack that was left unattended for ten minutes during a track meet at Hinsdale Central High School. The necklaces, valued over $300, were discovered missing around 11:10 a.m.

Smokes Found in Lunch Bag
A 17-year-old girl was charged with unlawful possession of tobacco by a minor. A found lunch bag was turned into the dean’s office. at Hinsdale Central at 5500 S. Grant St. around 8:45 a.m. While determining ownership, staff located a package of cigarettes. The owner of the bag was located and it was determined the cigarettes belonged to her. She was charged and released to her parents.

Unlocked Locker
A backpack containing an Apple Air laptop, duffel bag, cell phone and shoes were stolen from a locker rooms at Hinsdale Central High School sometime between 3:10 and 4:30 p.m. Police said the locker was not locked at the time of the theft.
