Thieves Steal Laptops, Children’s Movies from Unlocked Cars

Hinsdale police reports, April 7-8.

Thieves raked in the bounty after grabbing items from unlocked cars during the overnight hours of April 7 to April 8, Hinsdale Police said.

Something frightened off a would-be thief who ditched a computer bag and laptop under a bush in the 600 block of Woodside sometime before 8 a.m. April 8.

According to the report, a resident contacted police after she found the items on her property.

The owner was contacted and said someone entered his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in his driveway.

A car was also reported burgled in the 200 block of Justina St. sometime before 8:15 p.m. April 8.

Police said someone entered the vehicle and stole a case containing 25 children’s movies from the center console.

There were no signs of forced entry and the owner is unsure if the car was locked.
