Teens Charged With Theft of Village Property

A $1,000 mountain bike and a less expensive cab ride were also among the thefts reported recently to Hinsdale Police.

Theft of village property, possession of cannabis—Three 17-year-old juveniles, one from Hinsdale and two from Clarendon Hills, were charged with theft after being caught trying to steal street signs at Stough Park and load them into a vehicle at 10:14 p.m. Aug. 3, according to the .

Police also found marijuana in the center console of the vehicle.

All three suspects were charged with theft and the Hinsdale juvenile was also charged with possession of cannabis. The suspects were released on bond.

Theft—A $1,000 GT Tequast mountain bike locked to a bike rack in the 10 block of South Washington Street was stolen between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Aug. 5. According to Hinsdale Police, there are currently no suspects.

Burglary—An unknown suspect took two leaf blowers, three wet saws, a compactor, a power washer, and a rototiller from a garage in the 300 block of Forest Road between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1 and 7 a.m. Aug. 2.

According to police, the unlocked and unattended garage door was left open a couple of inches before the theft took place. The total cost of the stolen items was not known when the theft was reported.

Theft of service—Anand S. Vade, of 539 N. Ashland Ave. in LaGrange Park, was charged with theft and resisting an officer after the 36-year-old refused to pay a cab driver for a $40 cab ride and struggled with police during his arrest at 4:13 a.m. Aug. 2 outside the Shell gas station at 210 E. Ogden Ave.

Vade posted bond and was released with a court date.
