Street Fighting, Cannabis, DUI: Police Blotter

Hinsdale police reports, April 23-26

FRIDAY, APRIL 26

DUI

Frank R. Sasek, 21, of the 5500 block of Harvey Avenue, LaGrange, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol over .08, and improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Police at 11:38 p.m. stopped Sasek at 55th Street and Grant for improper lane usage. He was observed to be under the influence of alcohol and submitted a breath test over .08., police said. Sasek was charged and released.

Cannabis Possession

James T. Vanek, 19, of the 300 block of Forest Road, Hinsdale, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment. Police at 10:44 p.m. were dispatched for a suspicious vehicle on the 900 block of Cleveland. Vanek was found to be in possession of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for cannabis, police said. He was also in possession of two glass pipes which are commonly used to ingest cannabis. Vanek was charged and released.

Fighting

Mark D. Robertson, 43, of the 400 block of East Prairie Avenue, Lombard, and Leonel Vaca, 31, of the 400 block of James Court, Glendale Heights, were both charged with fighting.

Robertson and Vaca at 1:34 p.m. were observed fighting in the roadway at Maple and Grant streets, according to police. The two know each other and began to fight after a verbal altercation over work matters, the police report said. Both males were charged with a local ordinance violation and released to appear in court.

TUESDAY, APRIL 23

Cannabis Possession

Brett M. Goss, 18, of the 300 block of Hickory Street, Hinsdale, was charged with possession of cannabis. Goss ran when a police car at 7 p.m. drove near the area of Brook Park. Police later located Goss when he returned to the area. He was found to be in possession of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for cannabis, police said. Goss was charged and released to appear in court.
