School Vandalized, Bike Stolen, Teens' Parents Called: Police Blotter

Clarendon Hills police reports, Aug. 23-29

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 29

Attempted Fraud

A resident came to the police department at 7:33 a.m. and reported that on Aug. 28, he noticed that an unknown person was trying to open a fraudulent credit card with the resident's American Express account information. The resident suffered no money loss.

Damage to School

Staff at Walker School reported at 8:51 a.m. that an unknown person had spray-painted a smiley face with X's for eyes on the school's sign some time the night before. The cost of the damage was unknown at the time of the report.

FRIDAY, AUG. 24

Bike Headlight Stolen

A complainant reported at 6:25 p.m. that an unknown thief had taken the LED headlight off of the complainant's bike while it was locked overnight near the train depot at 150 Ann St. The light is worth $20 to $25.

Whole Bike Stolen

A resident from the 400 block of Burlington Avenue reported at 6:34 p.m. that his Diamondback mountain bike had been stolen while it sat unlocked behind his apartment building for an extended period of time.

The bike is valued at $350. There are no suspects.

Teens' Parents Called

Police said a group of about 20 teenagers were drinking alcohol at 8:56 p.m. in Hosek Park.

None of the teens were charged. Their parents were called to pick them up.
