$4,650 in Appliances Stolen, Criminal Damage: Police Blotter

Train Depot Damage

Someone scratched letters into the glass of three doors at the Main Train Depot on the first block of Hinsdale Avenue. The incident was reported at 10:21 a.m. The cost to repair the damaged windows was unknown at the time of this report.

$4,650 Appliances Theft

Someone went into a foreclosed home on the 5600 block of South Park Street and took kitchen appliances valued at $4,650. The incident occurred between noon April 11 and 2:49 p.m. on this day. There were no signs of forced entry. A case on this incident is pending.

Cell Phone Theft During Track Meet

Someone stole a student's $200 cell phone while she was at Hinsdale Central High School on the 5500 block of South Grant Street. The incident occurred between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. during a track meet, according to a police report.

FRIDAY, APRIL 12

Retail Theft

Luke J. Valentinas, 32, of the 5600 block of South Meade, Chicago, was charged with retail theft. Police at 2:32 p.m. responded to a report of a retail theft in progress on the 500 block of East Ogden Avenue. Police located the suspect, who was found to be in possession of DVDs and CDs from a store. Valentinas was charged and released to appear in court. The total value of the items was under $300.
