Police: Two Vehicles Broken-into at Prospect Park

Criminal trespass to vehicle and criminal defacement are also among recent offenses reported by Clarendon Hills Police.

Burglary to motor vehicle—Two unattended vehicles parked at were broken into within the same hour on April 20, according to the .

One complainant reported at 9:42 a.m. that their rear passenger-side window had been shattered and a $200 purse was stolen from inside the vehicle.

Another complainant reported at 10:41 a.m. that their front passenger-side window was similarly shattered and a purse and wallet worth $300 were taken. 

Police believe the incidents are related. There are no suspects.

Driving on suspended license—Kevin Terry, of 1232 W. 112th St. in Chicago, was arrested after police found he had three outstanding warrants during a speeding stop on a Route 83 exit ramp at 55th Street at 3:47 a.m. April 21.

Terry, 34, was charged by Clarendon Hills Police with speeding and driving on a suspended license. The nature of the outstanding warrants was not known. The suspect was transferred to Burr Ridge Police and was eventually transported to DuPage County Jail. 

Criminal trespass to vehicle—Three juveniles were cited by police at 2:26 a.m. April 22 after they were caught driving after curfew in a vehicle belonging to one of the suspect's grandfather near the intersection of Stonegate Road and Ogden Avenue.

The driver, who was 16, was charged with driving without a valid license because it was after curfew. The two passengers were charged with criminal trespassing to a vehicle.

Citizen assist—A woman complained to police at 6:44 p.m. April 23 that she was sold a used vehicle that didn't work from a seller in the 200 block of North Richmond Avenue and the seller refused to refund any of her money.

Police told the complainant they would follow up with the seller, but said a civil case is likely the only possible path for her.

Criminal defacement—A complainant from the 500 block of Carlysle Drive reported at 6:42 a.m. April 19 that an unknown suspect threw silver paint at their garage door some time during the previous night.
