Police Report Illegal Alcohol Sale at Shell Food Mart

The department's recent blotter also lists several thefts and burglaries.

Unlawful sale of alcohol to minor—Lamar L. Clark, of 1088 Luxembourg Ct. in Carol Stream, was cited with a local ordinance violation after the employee of Shell Food Mart, 210 E. Ogden Ave., sold alcohol to a minor who did not present ID with a birth date at 7:25 p.m. April 5, according to the .

Clark, 30, was the only suspect cited during a series of controlled alcohol purchases conducted by the police department during April at various Hinsdale businesses, Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said in an email.

Wodka said the controlled purchases are used to monitor alcohol and tobacco sales at least once per year.

"This specific month was only intended for alcohol compliance," Wodka said.

Theft—An unknown suspect stole a $499 iPad from the front desk of Midwest Skin Care Institute, 500 E. Ogden Ave., between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 24.

The theft was reported on April 25. The case is currently pending.

Theft—An unknown suspect stole a $350 bike from the side of a house in the 500 block of North Bruner Place between 2:30 p.m. April 28 and 1:27 p.m. April 30.

The case is currently pending.

Burglary to motor vehicle—An unknown suspect entered an unlocked car in a driveway of the 400 block of West North Street and stole $30 to $40 in loose change between 11 p.m. April 29 and 5 a.m. April 30.

The case is currently pending.

Theft—An unknown suspect stole a $100 projector from the Hinsdale Central High School auditorium between 8:15 p.m. April 18 and 7:20 a.m. April 19.

The theft was reported on April 27. The case is currently pending.

Burglary to motor vehicle—A witness in the 400 block of Briargate Terrace observed an unknown suspect enter the vehicle of the witness’s family member at 2:27 a.m. April 30.

The suspect fled the scene, according to the witness, and nothing was taken from the vehicle. The case is currently pending.

Illegal dumping—An unknown suspect illegally dumped landscape debris into the dumpster of a victim in the 500 block of West Ogden Avenue between 12:01 a.m. April 13 and 11:59 p.m. April 20.

The incident was reported on April 25. The case is currently pending.
