POLICE BLOTTER: Underage Drinkers Crash High School Relay Race

Three minors were arrested for underage drinking after they allegedly entered a 24-hour, high school relay race while under the influence of alcohol, reports said.

Police were called to Hinsdale Central High School at 5500 S. Grant St., around 3:57 a.m. May 18.

According to the report, the event was closed to the public and only students with wristbands were allowed to attend.

The three were charged with unlawful use of alcohol by a person under 21 and released to appear in court, police said.

Charged were Leonardo A. Zavala III, 20, of Oak Brook; Gareth J. Parsons, 20, and Bradley J. Anlauf, 20, both of Hinsdale.

Saturday Night Stroll


Stefan Dragutin, 19, of Willowbrook, and Thomas O. Byrne Sullivan, 19, of Elmhurst, were both charged with unlawful use of alcohol by a person under 21 when police observed them walking on the 0-10 block of Ogden Avenue around 2:21 a.m. Police said both men appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

The teens were charged and released to appear in court.


Seat Belt Cannabis Check


A 19-year-old Bolingbrook stopped near 55th Street and Garfield Avenue during a roadside safety check around 9:49 a.m. when she was observed allegedly not wearing a seat belt.

Katlin M. Rogers was charged with possession of cannabis and a drug equipment when police found cannabis and a pipe in the woman’s car, reports said.

She was charged and released to appear in court.
