POLICE BLOTTER: Hit and Runs, Insulting Contact, Stolen Laptop

FRIDAY MAY 2

‘Insulting Contact’

Police responded to a domestic battery in the 200 block of West 59th Street around 10:21 p.m. According to the report, the victim told police that a family member made physical contact of an “insulting or provoking nature.

THURSDAY MAY 1

Identity Theft

An unknown suspect tried to open a credit card account using a victim’s personal information around 4:12 p.m. The bank denied the application and contacted the victim.

WEDNESDAY APRIL 30

Leafy

A registration check revealed an outstanding arrest warrant for Jonathan K. Labieniec, 22, of Elmhurst. Police stopped Labieniec near Route 83 and 55th Street around 10:12 p.m. Labieniec was also found in possession of a leafy, green substance that tested positive for cannabis, reports said. He was charged and released to Carol Stream police for the warrant.

 

Driving Under the Influence

A 63-year-old man was charged with various traffic violations, including driving under the influence, after a hit and run crash near Ogden Avenue and Monroe Street around 10:19 p.m. Indian Head Park Police were dispatched to the scene where they located the driver, identified as Jonathan L. Kraft, of Indian Heard Park. He was transferred to the Hinsdale Police Department for processing. Kraft was charged and released to a family member. 

Stolen Laptop

A woman reported that someone stole her laptop computer, iPad and iPhone from a study room at the Hinsdale Public Library, 20 E. Maple. The woman left the items on a table and went to the washroom for five minutes around 3:10 p.m. When she returned they were gone. The electronics were valued at $2,055.

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 29

Silver Streak

A victim reported a hit and run crash causing property damage in the 700 block of North York Road around 3:12 p.m. April 29. According to the report, a female driver in her 30s driving an older model silver sedan left the scene of the crash.
