Police Blotter: Burglary at Hinsdale Little League Concession Stand

MONDAY, JULY 30

Office Window Broken

An unknown vandal threw a rock through a window of an office in the 500 block of west Chestnut Street between 5 p.m. July 26 and 6:20 a.m. July 30. The damage to the window was valued at $300.

Concession Stand Hit

An unknown burglar used a wooden board to shatter a service window and gain access to the Hinsdale Little League concession stand in the 700 block of east Walnut Street between 7 p.m. July 28 and 7 a.m. July 29.

The burglar raised a protective shade to enter the stand. The damage to the window was valued at $300. At this time, nothing appears to be missing from the stand. There was no money inside at the time of the break-in.

Criminal Trespassing

Steven M. Powell, 36, of the 3400 block of West Medill Avenue, Chicago, was charged with trespass to property after he allegedly violated at 5:30 p.m. a Notice of Trespass that had been issued to him in recent weeks by a homeowner in the 300 block of South Washington Street.

Powell was released to appear in court.

SATURDAY, JULY 28

Underage Drinking

A 16-year-old male juvenile from Hinsdale was charged with unlawful use of alcohol by a person under 21 when an officer observed him and several other teens who appeared to be violating curfew when walking in the 700 block of south Grant Street at 12:35 a.m. The officer observed the 16-year-old to be under the influence of alcohol.

All of the teens were warned about violating curfew; the 16-year-old was released to a parent.

Man Charged With Alcohol, Drug Equipment Possession

David John Livesey, 18, of the 30 block of west 59th Street, Westmont, was charged with illegal possession of alcohol and possession of drug equipment after he was stopped in the 100 block of Symonds Drive at 10:16 p.m. for an investigation of a suspicious vehicle. Officers said they found alcohol and a cannabis pipe in the passenger compartment and trunk.

He was released to appear in court.
