MONDAY, JULY 9

Teens Charged With Drug Equipment Possession

Max J. Cervantes, 19, of the 3600 block of South Wisconsin Avenue, Berwyn, and Ann C. Collins, 19, of the 300 block of East 4th Street, Hinsdale, were charged with possession of drug equipment after police responded to a suspicious vehicle report in the 500 block of Justina Street at 12:48 a.m. and found the two suspects in the vehicle. Police said the vehicle smelled burnt cannabis and contained drug paraphernalia.

The two were released to appear in court. A 16-year-old female from Hinsdale in the vehicle was cited for violating curfew and was released to a parent.

SUNDAY, JULY 8

Car Mirror Damaged

An unknown person damaged the driver’s side mirror of a vehicle parked in the 10 block of South Madison Street between 1 a.m. and 7:20 a.m. The estimated cost of the damage was not available at the time the report was filed.

SATURDAY, JULY 7

18-year-old Gets DUI

Luis Lara, 18, of the 1100 block of Quail Run Avenue, Bolingbrook, was charged with DUI after he was observed by police to be under the influence of alcohol during a speeding stop on northbound Route 83 between 31st and 55th streets at 3:02 a.m., and failed an ensuing breath test.

Lara did not have a valid license or proof of insurance. In addition to DUI, he was charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was released to appear in court.

Willowbrook Woman Gets DUI

Julie Anne Piatek, 21, of the 300 block of Somerset Road, Willowbrook, was charged with DUI after police said she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop for improper lane use in the 300 block of East Ogden Avenue at 11:57 p.m., and failed an ensuing breath test.

Piatek was charged with DUI and improper lane use. She was released to appear in court.

Chicago Man Gets DUI

David E. Bertagna, 52, of the 6200 block of west Berenice Avenue, Chicago, was charged with DUI after he was observed to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop for speeding and failure to dim headlights in the 300 block of East Ogden Avenue at 11:57 p.m., and failed an ensuing breath test.

Bertagna was charged with DUI, speeding, and failure to dim headlights. He was released to appear in court.

THURSDAY, JULY 5

Rock Thrown Through Window

A rock was thrown through the front window of a home in the 200 block of West 8th Street between 12:15 a.m. and 12:45 a.m. The rock caused $300 in damage.
