Pricey Watch Missing

A resident from the 300 block of Ridge Road reported to police at 5:18 p.m. that a $16,000 watch has been missing from the home for several months, and thinks it was taken during November or December of 2011.

A maid was working at the home during that time period. The homeowner confronted the maid about the missing watch in December, but learned nothing about its wherabouts, police say.

A resident from the 400 block of McDaniels Circle reported a wire fraud scam at 2:50 p.m. after he received a call from an unknown person claiming a family member of the resident had been charged with DUI and needed money wired to them.

The caller asked the resident to wire the money via Western Union to an address in Baltimore. The resident recognized the scam and did not comply and, therefore, did not lose any money.
