Naperville Men Arrested on Ogden for DUI, Possession of Cocaine

Trespassing and criminal damage to a vehicle are also among recent offenses reported by Hinsdale Police.

DUI, possession of controlled substance—Jose L. Ruis-Lopez, of 744 Benedetti Dr. Apt. 110 in Naperville, and Hilario Arias-Moreno, of 870 Benedetti Dr. Apt. 206 in Naperville, were arrested at 4 a.m. Oct. 10 at Spinning Wheel Road and Ogden Avenue after Ruiz-Lopez was charged with DUI and Arias-Moreno was charged with possession of cocaine, according to the .

The two were in a vehicle that was observed by a Hinsdale Police officer to be parked in a traffic lane facing northbound with its lights off. Ruiz-Lopez, 24, was observed by the officer to be under the influence of alcohol. He failed field sobriety tests, was charged with DUI, and was released to appear in court. 

Arias-Moreno, 25, was a passenger in the vehicle and was found to be in possession of a controlled substance that tested positive for cocaine. He was charged with possession and transported to DuPage County Jail.

Criminal damage to vehicle—Several unidentified male suspects damaged the exterior of a female victim’s 2008 Volkswagen while it was parked unoccupied at Burlington Drive and Washington Street just before 5 p.m. Oct. 14.

The cost of the damage was unknown at the time of the report.

Trespass to vehicle—A female complainant reported to Hinsdale Police that an unknown suspect entered and rummaged through her 2000 Jeep Cherokee while it was parked in a driveway in the 400 block of Bonnie Brae Road, unoccupied and unlocked, between 8 p.m. Oct. 10 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 11.

There were no signs of forced entry and nothing was taken from the vehicle.

Phone harassment—A female victim from the 200 block of South Adams Street reported to Hinsdale Police on Oct. 16 that she had been receiving “insulting and threatening” text messages from a known suspect between Oct. 9 and Oct. 16.

Criminal damage to property—The mailboxes of several residents in the 300 block of Bonnie Brae Road were removed from their posts by unknown suspects between 9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Oct. 15. According to police, no theft occurred and the cost of the damage was unknown at the time of the report.
