Man Found With Psychedelic Mushrooms Charged

TUESDAY, NOV. 19
Possession of a Controlled Substance
Eric Ofreneo, 40, who was staying at a hotel in the 400 block of Claremont Court, Downers Grove, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, police said, after he was found to be in possession of psychedelic mushrooms during a traffic stop on southbound Route 83 near 55th Street at 11:32 p.m.
Ofreneo had been stopped for not wearing a seatbelt. The officer detected the smell of cannabis coming from the car, and after Ofreneo was asked to get out of the car, the mushrooms were found on him.
He was transported to DuPage County Jail.
MONDAY, NOV. 18
DUI
Budisa Stankovic, 46, of the 4300 block of North Newland Avenue, Harwood Heights, was charged with DUI, police said, after he struck with his vehicle the rear-end of a semi truck while traveling northbound on Route 83 near 58th Street at 7:55 p.m. and then was observed to be under the influence of alcohol by officers.
Stankovic had been spotted driving erratically on Route 83 in Willowbrook before the accident. He was charged with DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said, then released and transported to an area hospital.
THURSDAY, NOV. 14
Suspended License
Arturo Jesus Sosa-Lopez, 21, of the 200 block of North Richmond Avenue, Clarendon Hills, was charged with driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop near the intersection of Pasquinelli Drive and Ogden Avenue at 2:25 p.m., police said.
He was released to appear in court.
