Man Faces DUI Charges After Fleeing Accident Scene: Cops

Zachary Dandrea, 21, of Hinsdale, also was charged with disobeying a stop sign, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and other violations after a July 12 incident.

A Hinsdale man faces drunken driving and other charges after an accident early Saturday, July 12, according to police reports. 

Zachary B. Dandrea, 21, of the 0-100 block of County Line Road, was charged with driving under the influence, disobeying a stop sign, driving off the roadway, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle. 

Hinsdale police responded to an accident between a vehicle and a residence at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday, July 12, in the 800 block of South County Line Road, the report stated. Officers, however, were unable to find the vehicle's driver at the scene, the report added.

The driver, who police identified as Dandrea, was later found at Hinsdale Hospital where he was being treated for injuries from the accident, the report stated.
