Man Charged With Pot Possession, Retail Theft: Police Blotter

Radar Detector, CDs Swiped

Someone smashed a car window and stole a radar detector valued at $100 and numerous CDs valued at $300, police said. The incident occurred sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 6:07 p.m. at the Highland Depot Commuter parking lot, according to a report. A case is pending.

TUESDAY, OCT. 1

iPad Snatched

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a $600 iPad while it was parked in a parking lot on the 900 block of North York Road. The incident occurred sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 11:50 a.m. A case is pending.

MONDAY, SEPT. 30

Cannabis Possession, Retail Theft

Joseph M. Casto, 23, of the 17200 block of Teakwood Drive, Tinley Park, was charged with retail theft and possession of cannabis. Casto was arrested at 5:45 p.m. on the first block of East Hinsdale Avenue.

Casto was spotted stealing a t-shirt from a business on Hinsdale Avenue, according to police. He had in his possession a green leafy substance, which field- tested positive for cannabis. He was charged and released to appear in court.
