Police allege Espinoza-Hernandez entered an unoccupied vehicle parked in the 0-100 block of South Clay Street between 10:42 a.m. and 10:57 a.m. May 9 and took a lunch bag, jumper cables, and a cell phone.
Espinoza-Hernandez was later charged with a similar vehicle burglary in Wilmette after he was caught by a multi-department surveillance operation that Hinsdale police participated in, according to deputy chief Mark Wodka. Espinoza-Hernandez's picture was then picked out of a lineup by a witness to the Hinsdale offense, leading to the Hinsdale warrant being issued.
After being charged with the Hinsdale burglary, Espinoza-Hernandez was transported to DuPage County Jail.
