Juvenile Brings Razor Knife to Hinsdale Central

Other recent arrests made by Hinsdale police include two cases of DUI and two of cannabis possession.

Unlawful use of weapon—A Willowbrook 16-year-old was arrested May 10 for bringing a razor knife with him to .

"It's similar to a box-cutter knife," Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said.

According to the , the subject kept the knife in his backpack while at school and did not display it. Wodka said the dean's office informed the police department after receving a tip from another student.

The arrest occurred at 1:30 p.m. 

DUI—A 26-year-old Clarendon Hills man was arrested at 2:45 a.m. on May 21 when he failed a breath test after being pulled over for speeding on the 500 West block of 55th Street.

Paul Peel, of 5670 Forest Hills Dr. in Clarendon Hills, was charged with DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and speeding, according to police. He was charged and released with a court date.  

Possession of cannabis—Marijuana was found in the car of a 19-year-old Hinsdale man after the suspect was stopped by Hinsdale police for improper lane use at 55th Street and Quincy Avenue at 10:22 p.m. on May 17.

Marshall Livingston, of 404 N. Vine St., was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug equipment, and improper lane usage after a search of his car turned up a green leafy substance in the center console and a weighing scale.

Livingston’s passenger, 19-year-old Reginald Meadows of 16W749 56th Pl. in Clarendon Hills, was also found to be in possession of cannabis and was charged.

The two men were released by police to appear in court.

Possession of cannabis, DUI—After being stopped by officers working seat-belt detail at 1:56 a.m. on May 18, an 18-year-old Naperville man was found to have marijuana in the passenger compartment of his vehicle and was observed to be under the influence of a narcotic, according to police.

Michael Delaney, of 2116 Debbie Ct. in Naperville, was charged with possession of cannabis, driving under the influence of drugs, and not wearing a seat belt. He submitted to a urine screening and was released on bond to appear in court.

Criminal defacement—An unknown suspect used the west side of the Lane School, 500 N. Elm St., to portray obscene objects in pink chalk between 6 p.m. on May 18 and 8 a.m. on May 19.

According to police, no permanent damage was done.

Arson—A dumpster fire was reported in the parking lot of Veeck Park at 3:20 p.m. on May 17.

According to police, the cause of the fire, which did no damage, was unknown at the time of the report.
