Incident at Football Game Prompts Battery Complaint

Police say the incident happened on the field at Hinsdale Central High School.

Battery—During a football game at Hinsdale Central High School, Aug. 28, an incident occurred that prompted a female to file a battery complaint. She said she knew the other person involved.

Deceptive Practice—Unlawful Use of Credit Cards: A woman on the 800 Block of South Adams Street reported on Sept. 8 that said someone got hold of her credit card number to make $119 worth of purchases from an "entertainment" company. She called the company and it refunded her the money.

Unlawful Use of Alcohol by a Minor: On Aug. 25, a 17-year-old boy from Willowbrook was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor after a teacher at Hinsdale Central High School noticed that he seemed to be under the influence in class. A breath test showed alcohol in his system. He was charged and will have to appear in court.

Theft over $300: A female said someone removed jewelry from a drawer in her bedroom on Birchwood sometime between Aug. 16 and Aug. 27. The exact value of what was taken was not known at the time she reported the incident on Sept. 10.

Driving While License Suspended: On Sept. 5, Raymond P. Schroeder, 34, of 8024 W. 31st St. in North Riverside, was charged for driving on a suspended license at Ogden Avenue and County Line Road. The vehicle was stopped for going 56 mph in a 35 mph zone. He was charged and released with a court date.

DUI: On Sept. 5, Malgorzata Orszula, 36, of 4411 Fairview in Downers Grove, was charged with a DUI after being stopped for improper use of signal and lane usage at Ogden Avenue and Madison street. Police said she appeared to be under the influence, and her breath test indicated she had a blood alcohol content greater than .08.

Burglary to a Motor Vehicle: A woman on the 700 Block of South Stough Street said someone stole a Mountain Buggy jogging stroller from her unlocked vehicle sometime between Sept. 4 and Sept. 7.

Theft Under $300: A woman on Salt Creek Lane said someone took her iPod, which was inserted in her clock/radio, sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 7.

Theft Under $300: A man on Salt Creek Lane said someone took the stethoscope that he had left in a reading room on Aug. 26, sometime between 5:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.

Criminal Damage to a Motor Vehicle: A woman said someone keyed her car twice while it was parked at 1400 Burr Oak Rd. It happened sometime between Sept. 4 and Sept. 10.

Theft Over $300: A man said that on Sept. 8, sometime between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., someone removed his Rolex watch and gold wedding ring while he was undergoing a procedure at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital.

Driving While License Suspended: On Sept. 5, Ryan B. Dalton, of 320 N. Washington St. in Hinsdale, was arrested at Ogden Avenue and York Road for driving on a suspended license, having an expired registration and driving an uninsured vehicle. He was released on bond to appear in court.

Burglary to Vehicle: Sometime between 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 1 and 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 2, an intruder entered the unlocked vehicle of a man's open garage on the 200 Block of Justina Street. The intruder stole $1,850 from the man's wallet, which was inside the car.

Theft: Susan R. Laroche, 45, of 4047 Center Avenue in Lyons, was arrested at Manorcare of Hinsdale, 600 W. Ogden Ave., on Sept. 10. A nurse reported that Laroche had stolen her purse from a coat rack near the nurse's station. Laroche was arrested at home, charged with theft and released to appear in court.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: On Sept. 9, a 14-year-old boy from Clarendon Hills was arrested and charged with possession of drug equipment. He was involved in a fight with another student at Hinsdale Central High School. While in the dean's office, two glass pipes were found on him.

Retail Theft: On Sept. 7, Jodyn K. Bilstrom, 49, of 229 E. Walnut in Hinsdale, was arrested and charged with retail theft under $300 and possession of stolen property at Trousseaux, 777 N. York Rd., in Hinsdale. Another shopper reported seeing her putting items into her purse. Bilstrom admitted to taking a napkin-holder and earrings without paying and gave police items that were taken from other stores in the area. She was released on bond with a court date.

DUI: On Sept. 12, Kyle G Rende, 23, of 7709 Dalewood Parkway in Woodridge, was arrested and charged with DUI, speeding and improper lane use. He was stopped for speeding, and his breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration greater than .08. He was released on bond with a court date.
