In Court This Week: Man Accused of Burr Ridge Murder
Here's a look at some of the cases we're keeping an eye on this week.
At the DuPage County Courthouse this week will be a man accused of a 2009 murder, two Darien mortgage-company thieves, and three family members who face charges stemming from a bar altercation.
Burr Ridge—, charged with the 2009 murder of Jason Dragos, returns to court June 23 for a motion hearing on a handful of issues, including whether his defense can generally claim someone else killed Dragos and whether prosecutors can tell jurors about an alleged workers comp scam by Gilbert in the 1990s.
Darien— are scheduled for sentencing June 20 on their theft convictions relating to their former mortgage company. Their plea did not come with a sentencing recommendation, so both are likely to receive prison time.
Downers Grove—, a former police officer charged with official misconduct after allegedly plotting to rob a drug dealer, is scheduled for a June 22 status hearing.
Elmhurst—Bryan B. Connell, Bryan R. Connell, and Steven Connell, , are scheduled for status hearings on June 20.
