In Court This Week: Hinsdale Metra Bomber, Burr Ridge Murder Case

Here's a look at some of the cases we're keeping an eye on this week.

The suspect in the 2006 Hinsdale Metra station explosion is back in court this week in Chicago after being found guilty of a similar crime in another part of the country. Also, defense counsel in a Burr Ridge murder case wants to present evidence that shows someone other than its client did the deed, and a Naperville man goes to court for impersonating a lawyer. 

Hinsdale—, who is charged with causing the 2006 explosion at the Hinsdale Metra station, is scheduled for a May 6 hearing in federal court in Chicago. He recently was sentenced to prison for a similar conviction in Utah.

Burr Ridge— is scheduled for a May 4 hearing on a defense request to introduce evidence at trial that someone other than Gilbert killed Dragos. Prosecutors object, saying the defense lacks specificity. 

Elmhurst— is scheduled for a hearing on May 2. Drefs is accused of stealing $32,000 from Messiah Lutheran Church in Elmhurst.

Elmhurst—, who was charged in February with 15 counts of aggravated possession of child pornography, is scheduled for a May 5 hearing.

Naperville—
 scheduled for status hearing on May 4

Naperville—, who allegedly impersonated a lawyer to bilk people out of thousands, is  scheduled for a May 2 hearing.

Naperville—Downers Grove resident  goes to court this week for an initial hearing on his request to have judicial review of a red-light ticket he received in Naperville. He's fighting to keep his driving record clean because he wasn't driving the car at time of ticket. 

Wheaton—Former city council candidate domestic battery, returns to court May 3 for a status hearing.
