In Court This Week: Darien Triple-Murder Case, Glenbard West Football Player Accused of Sexual Assault

Here's a look at some of the cases we're keeping an eye on this week.

Among the cases being heard in DuPage County Court this week is the Darien triple-murder case, in which one defendant is seeking to place the blame on the other. There is also a hearing in the Demarco Whitley case, which alleges the former Glenbard West football player was involved in a 2010 sexual assault. 

Darien— returns to court May 20 for another hearing in his triple murder case. His most recent appearances have been focused on his attorney's push to get all types of reports and other information to support their defense that co-defendant  might have acted on his own because of psychological issues.

Downers Grove—, accused of stealing more than $100,000 from a local youth football program, is scheduled for status hearing on May 17

Downers Grove—, charged with the murder of his wife and unborn child, is also scheduled for a May 17 status hearing.

Downers Grove—Randy Caudill, a former Downers Grove police officer charged with official misconduct in connection to the theft of several thousand dollars from a suspected drug dealer during a traffic stop, is set for a May 19 hearing. The hearing might get more into the background of the informant used to gather evidence against Caudill.

Glen Ellyn— returns to court May 19 for status hearing in his sexual assault case. Whitley and former teammate Pierre Washington-Steele have been linked to the January 2010 assault that occurred in Rolling Meadows shortly before a crash that killed Steele and injured Whitley, according to authorities.
