Identity Theft Costs Clarendon Hills Woman $5,800

The burglary of three vehicles were also among recent crimes reported by the Clarendon Hills Police Department.

Identity theft—A resident from the 0-100 block of Golf Avenue came to the and reported that her credit card was fraudulently charged for $5,850 worth of purchases in Georgia.

The victim reported the offense Nov. 9. Since the charges took place in a different state, Clarendon Hills Police is not investigating.

Burglary from motor vehicle—Three vehicles were burglarized in Clarendon Hills over the last seven days.

Two of the offenses took place Nov. 8. One vehicle was parked in the driveway of a home on the 300 block of Harris Avenue when one iPhone and one Blackberry worth a combined $1,200 were taken along with $40 in cash. The other vehicle was parked in a driveway of a home in the 200 block of Walker Avenue and when its owner noticed their driver’s license, debit card, and $60 in cash were missing.

Both vehicles were unlocked.

A third vehicle burglary took place Nov. 5 and the vehicle’s owner, of the 200 block of Holmes Avenue, didn’t even know it. Clarendon Hills Police recovered a GPS device that belonged to the victim and returned it to her Nov. 7.

There are no suspects in any of the vehicle burglaries.

DUI—Laura A. Loncki, of 5685 Forest Hill Dr. #103 in Clarendon Hills, was charged with DUI after she was observed to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop for improper lane usage at Holmes Avenue and 57th Street at 1:31 a.m. Nov. 6.

Loncki, 49, failed field sobriety tests and refused a breath test.

Possession of cannabis—Fred Nichols, of 13099 Champlain Ave. in Riverdale, was charged with possession of cannabis after officers found him with marijuana when he was pulled over at Route 83 and 55th Street on Nov. 6 for not wearing a seat belt.

Nichols, 27, was also charged with police obstruction after giving officers a fake name, Titus D. Woodring. He was released with court information.

Burglary—A vacant house in the 100 block of Arthur Avenue was broken into at 3:20 p.m. Nov. 5. The front door was forced open, but nothing was taken from the empty home.
