Hinsdale police report two thefts of gasoline.

Thefts of gas—No sooner do gas prices start to soar, Hinsdale police report two thefts of gas.

The first incident was reported March 6. A man said that gas was siphoned from the tank of his vehicle sometime between 7 a.m. March 4 and 7:30 a.m. March 6 while it was parked on the 5500 block of Madison. The victim, who said his gas tank was unlocked, estimates that 18 gallons of gas worth $65 was taken.

In the second incident, police received a report of a woman driving away from the Mobil gas station, 8 W. Chicago, shortly before 6 p.m. March 7 without paying for $39.01 worth of gas. She was described as a white female, approximately 40 years old driving a silver, unknown-make vehicle.

Identity theft—A man on the 300 block of Claymoor reported that an unknown suspect fraudulently used his credit information to purchase a computer for $2,759.99. The theft occurred sometime between 8 a.m. Jan. 10 and 10 a.m. March 5.

Possession of cannabis—Andrew J. Bateman, 18, 300 60th Ct., Willowbrook, was arrested at 8:57 a.m. March 4 in the parking lot of the Community House, 415 W. 8th St.

A police officer, called to the area to investigate a suspicious person, said the suspect had a green leafy substance that tested positive for cannabis. Subject was charged with possession and released with a court date.

Driving under the influence of alcohol—Megan Faley, 33, 907 W. Curtiss #301, Downers Grove, was arrested at 1:29 a.m. March 2 after he failed a field sobriety test and submitted to a breath test which indicated his blood alcohol content was greater than .08, according to police reports.

Police said Faley was driving west on Ogden Avenue between Adams and Oakwood when he was stopped for improper lane usage. He was charged and ticketed for DUI, DUI +.08 and improper lane usage. He was released to appear in court. 

Fighting on school grounds—Two teenage girls were taken into custody and given ordinance citations for fighting after an incident reported to have occurred at 7:39 a.m. Feb. 17 at Hinsdale Central High School, 5500 S. Grant St. 

Singled out to be fighting were Jasmine L. Underwood, 18, 100 Lincoln Oaks Drive #902, Willowbrook, and a 14-year-old female Hinsdale resident. No injuries were reported.
