Homeless Man Hits Gas Station Employee

Bryan Keith Krum, 40, was charged with two counts of battery after police said he struck an employee of a gas station in the 0-10 block of west Chicago Avenue at 8:30 a.m. and then threw a cup of hot water in the employee’s direction while leaving.

Krum, who police said is homeless, was acting disruptively earlier that morning within the gas station’s store and was asked to leave, which he did. Police said he later returned and had a verbal confrontation with the store employee, which ended when Krum struck the male employee’s face with his fist. After throwing the cup of hot water and leaving the store, police said, Krum was located by officers at the downtown Hinsdale train station, where he was taken into custody.

Krum was charged with two counts of battery, served with an order of no trespass to keep him away from the gas station, and released to appear in court.

The employee did not need any medical attention.
