Hinsdale Woman Cited in Crash on Darien-Willowbrook Border

The woman tried to turn left as light turned yellow, police said, causing a head-on collision last week.

A Hinsdale woman was cited with failing to yield when making a left turn, which led to an  of Route 83 and Plainfield Road, Willowbrook police said.

Barbara Dindia, 72, of the 00S200 block of Terry Trail in Hinsdale, tried to turn left as the light turned yellow while driving east on Plainfield Road, police said.

A 20-year-old woman from Western Springs was traveling west on Plainfield Road and struck Dindia’s vehicle around 8:15 a.m., police said.

Dindia and the other driver were taken to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital with serious injuries, police said. Dindia’s passenger, a 90-year-old man who lives at the same address as Dindia, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, also with serious injuries, police said.

Adventist was unable to provide an update on the condition of Dindia and the other driver.
