Hinsdale Man Arrested for Domestic Battery

Vandalism to a car and a village basketball court are among the crimes reported recently to the Hinsdale Police Department.

Domestic battery—Ronald O. Belousek, of 810 S. Jackson St. in Hinsdale, was arrested for domestic battery after pushing a female victim to the floor twice at 5:21 a.m. Aug. 6 at the above address, according to the .

The 35-year-old Belousek lives at 810 S. Jackson St. with his girlfriend, according to Deputy Chief Kevin Simpson, but the victim was not his girlfriend. He was charged with domestic battery and transported to DuPage County Jail.

DUI—Catherine Cavenagh, of 432 S. Adams St. in Hinsdale, was charged with driving under the influence after she was pulled over by Hinsdale Police for driving without a passenger-side tire at 4:07 a.m. Aug. 3.

According to police, sparks flew from the wheel’s rim after it struck a curb. When police pulled Cavenagh over, they observed the 23-year-old to be under the influence of alcohol. She failed field sobriety tests and a breath test found her blood-alcohol level to be over the legal limit of .08.  

Cavenagh was ticketed and released to appear in court.

Criminal damage to village property—Unknown vandalism suspects took to the Stough Park basketball court with white paint at 11:18 a.m. Aug. 2. The cost of the damage is unknown according to Hinsdale Police.

Criminal damage to vehicle—Unknown suspects smashed the windows of a female victim’s unoccupied car while it was parked in the 5600 block of County Line Road between 10:56 a.m. and 11:56 a.m. Aug. 4. The cost of the damage was unknown at the time the report was made to Hinsdale Police.
