Jewlery Reported Stolen, PayPal Fraud Attempt: Police Blotter

PayPal Fraud Attempted

A resident from the 100 block of Minneola Street reported that an unknown person attempted to use the resident’s existing PayPal account to make a $1,530 online transaction between 12:01 a.m. Sept. 27 and 4:15 p.m. Sept. 28.

The transaction was canceled before it went through, police said. No money loss was suffered.

Jewelry Reported Stolen

An unknown person stole a men's Rolex watch and two women's bracelets from a home in the 100 block of North Clay Street while the homeowner was out of town between 12:01 a.m. Aug. 4 and 11:59 p.m. Aug. 20. The incident was reported on Sept. 26.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry at the house. Several workers from two home maintenance companies had authorized access to the home during the time the homeowner was away. The total value of the stolen items was not known at the time of the report.
