Hinsdale Teen Charged with Criminal Sexual Abuse

The alleged crimes took place during the span of a week between the suspect and victim, who the suspect had been in a relationship with.

Criminal sexual abuse—A 17-year-old Hinsdale male was arrested and charged with criminal sexual abuse and domestic battery on June 3 after he made “unwanted physical contact of a sexual nature and unwanted non-sexual physical contact” with a 16-year-old female victim between May 14 and May 21, according to the .

The suspect and victim had been in a dating relationship, Hinsdale Deputy Police Chief Mark Wodka said.

“Once the incidents had been reported and the contact had been ceased, charges were pursued following intervention by the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office,” Wodka said.

The suspect, whose identity is being withheld by police because he’s a juvenile, turned himself in at the Hinsdale Police Department at 5:30 p.m. June 23, Wodka said, before being charged and released to appear in the Juvenile Court of DuPage County.

The deputy chief said at least one of the incidents involving the couple occurred at a home in the 700 block of West Hickory Street. The victim did not need any medical treatment as a result of the alleged abuse.

Domestic battery—A 38-year-old Hinsdale man was arrested and taken to DuPage County Jail after he reportedly “made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature” with a female family member in the 900 block of South Stough Street at 6:40 p.m. on June 26, according to Wodka.

Gregory Scott Stephens, of 904 S. Stough St. in Hinsdale, was charged with domestic battery.

“He used his hands to grab the neck-area of the victim,” Wodka said.

The victim needed no medical treatment for her injuries.

Possession of cannabis, alcohol—After stopping a car containing a 19-year-old driver and two 20-year-old passengers in the 10 block of East Sixth Street for a traffic offense at 9:34 p.m. June 23, Hinsdale Police officers found alcohol in the car and marijuana on one of the passengers.

Christian A. Hilbrich, of 422 Ruby St. in Clarendon Hills, was the driver; he was charged with having no registration lamps and unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor after 12 oz. cans of Busch Light beer were found in the passenger compartment of the car. One of the passengers, 20-year-old Blake S. Wojtzak of 5715 S. Madison St. in Hinsdale, was also found to be in possession of a Busch Light can and was charged with unlawful use of alcohol by a minor.

The other passenger, Thomas F. Hilbrich of the same Clarendon Hills address as the driver, was found to be in possession of marijuana and a pipe. He was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia in addition to unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

The suspects were cited and released on bond to appear in court.

Possession of cannabis—A 22-year-old Naperville man, a 19-year-old Oak Brook woman and a 16-year-old Clarendon Hills girl were found to be in possession of marijuana after they were observed smoking cigarettes at 1 a.m. June 25, past the 16-year-old’s curfew, outside the Mobil gas station at Chicago Avenue and Washington Street.

Police charged 19-year-old Lian E. Duffy, of 7 York Lake Ct. in Oak Brook, with possession of cannabis and possession of a controlled substance, a pharmaceutical she had no prescription for; 22-year-old Michael A. Briskey, of 1129 Dartmoor Ct. in Naperville, was charged only with possession of drug equipment—a glass pipe.

Police did not release the name of the 16-year-old Clarendon Hills girl who was found to be in possession of marijuana. She was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of tobacco by a minor, and curfew violation.

The suspects were cited and released on bond.

Possession of cannabis—A 19-year-old Hinsdale man was arrested at 5:07 p.m. June 22 at the corner of Symonds Drive and Garfield Street after marijuana was found in the passenger compartment of his vehicle.

Marshall W. Livingston, of 404 N. Vine Street in Hinsdale, was pulled over because of his involvement in an unrelated investigation, according to police. A “hard-plastic material object used to ingest cannabis” was also found to be in Livingston’s possession.

Livingston was charged with and ticketed for possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment before being released on bond.

Criminal defacement—An unknown suspect spray-painted obscene words in blue on the cement at the Hinsdale Community Pool, 500 W. Hinsdale Ave., between 11 p.m. on June 22 and 11:57 a.m. on June 23, according to police. No permanent damage was done.
