Hinsdale Village President Tom Cauley made a brief statement during the Feb. 28 meeting highlighting Bloom’s outside-of-Hinsdale work, including his membership on the boards of the Family Shelter Service, the DuPage County Emergency Telephone System, the chiefs committee for Southwest Central Dispatch, and the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police. Bloom is also president of the DuPage County Chiefs of Police Association.

“Beyond all that, he’s an all-around nice guy,” Cauley said.

According to its website, the ISCC is a "not-for-profit organization committed to public safety and law enforcement."

"Our goal, together, is to offer insightful, creative legislative solutions and assist law enforcement agencies to prevent crime in our communities through a unique blend of awareness and activities," the site reads.
