Hinsdale Man Charged with Posession of Drug Equipment

Darien Police also connected the suspect to an earlier theft from parked truck.

Eric A. Martinez, 18, of the 600 block of The Lane in Hinsdale, was arrested by Darien Police July 2 around 4:20 a.m. in the Cass Avenue Jewel parking lot, police said. Martinez and his car reportedly matched the description of a suspect in a truck burglary that took place earlier that morning on the 7600 block of Brookhaven, police said.

The suspect in that burglary, dressed in all black, was seen rifling through the back of an unlocked truck, police said. He ran away when a neighbor yelled at him, according to the report, but a camera and spare change worth about $202 were taken from the truck.

Police didn’t find any items reported missing in the burglary in Martinez’s car, according to the report. The police canine searched Martinez’s car and found a marijuana pipe, according to the report. Martinez was charged with possession of drug equipment, police said. He was given an Aug. 2 court date.
