Man Charged After Caught on Hinsdale Central Grounds

School Windows Broken

Someone broke a window at The Lane School on the 500 block of North Elm Street, police said. The incident occurred sometime between 9 a.m. Oct. 6 and 8 a.m. Oct. 7, according to police. A broken window was also found at the school on Sept. 30. The cost to replace the window is about $400, a police report said. A case is pending.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 2

Identity Theft

Someone used a resident's identity to make fraudulent charges and file false tax returns. The incidents occurred between April 1 and Oct. 2, according to police. The resident received bills from Kohl’s totaling $1,484.29 and a bill from AT&T for $1,979.56, a report said. A case is pending.

TUESDAY, OCT. 1

Man Caught Outside Hinsdale Central

Joshua O. Chacin, 23, of the 700 block of Bittersweet Lane, Hinsdale, was charged with disorderly conduct. Chacin was arrested at 8:24 a.m. outside Hinsdale Central High School on the 5500 block of South Grant Street, according to police.

A school security officer saw Chacin pull door handles and attempt to gain entry to the school while classes were in session. He did not have an authorized reason for being on school grounds, according to a police report. He was charged and released to appear in court.
