Hinsdale Man Arrested For Heroin Possession

Police say the suspect had a prior conviction for possession.

Milan N. Crnovich, 18, of 530 North Grant Street in Hinsdale was arrested for heroin possession around 6:48 p.m. on April 11.

Someone saw a man slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle parked on the 100 Block of West Glendale Avenue and called the police. At first, Crnovich was unresponsive when officers arrived on the scene.

At that time, they saw a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance sitting on his lap. The powder later field tested positive as heroin. Police say they found two bags in his possession.

Crnovich was transported to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital for treatment at his request for issues not related to his arrest.

He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, a Class 4 felony, which is punishable by one to three years in prison and could carry a fine up to $25,000.

Crnovich had a prior conviction for heroin possession, stemming from an arrest in August of 2009.
