Arrest Reports from the Hinsdale Police Department

Discharge of air gun—A 16-year-old male juvenile from Darien was arrested at 9:55 p.m. July 30 after officers responded to a report that juveniles driving a vehicle had, with an air-soft gun, shot at someone outside the vehicle.

The victim was struck in the back by the plastic bullet but was not harmed, according to Wodka.

Officers located the suspect’s vehicle in the 10 block of East Hinsdale Avenue. The suspect was placed under arrest, then charged and ticketed. Three other juveniles, two 16-year-olds and a 14-year-old, were also in the car, Wodka said.

Disorderly conduct—Michael Gale, 58, of 10 Bonnie Brae Road in Hinsdale, was cited for disorderly conduct after a verbal dispute followed an incident in which Gale’s dog injured a female victim’s dog at 2:30 p.m. July 19 on Gale’s block.

Gale allegedly made “alarming and disturbing” statements to the victim during an argument over the payment of the victim’s dog’s medical treatment bill.

Wodka said the victim approached the suspect with the bill for her dog’s medical treatment with the expectation Gale would reimburse.

“The owner/suspect became extremely irate at the victim,” Wodka said, and his demeanor led the victim to believe she could be in danger.

Gale was ticketed for a local ordinance violation and will appear in court.

Criminal damage to property—A male victim from the 100 block of North Lincoln Street reported to Hinsdale Police that unknown suspects damaged two decorative light fixtures he has near the sidewalk in front of his home some time between 10 p.m. July 24 and 11:15 a.m. July 25.

The cost of the damaged lights totals $700.

Criminal damage to vehicle—Making key marks across the hood, an unknown suspect did $200 worth of damage to a male victim’s car while it was parked on the 300 block of East 57th Street between June 1 and July 23.
